At Focused.Arts.Media.eDucation. (FAMe), we believe in the transformative power of storytelling. Founded in 2013 by  filmmaker and educator Carla LynDale Bishop, FAMe is dedicated to empowering the next generation of creators through hands-on media education. Our innovative programs—ranging from in-school residencies to summer documentary workshops—equip young people with the skills they need to produce compelling media that makes a difference in their communities.

Based in the dynamic Phoenix Metro-area, FAMe had done programming in Ohio, Texas, and even as far as Kenya! Our students don’t just learn how to make films—they learn how to use media as a powerful tool for social change, addressing real-world issues with creativity and purpose. Projects produced by our students have been showcased at international film festivals, local schools, libraries, and community events, reflecting the impact and quality of our programs.

Many of our alumni have gone on to pursue film production and studies at prestigious colleges, testament to the lasting influence of FAMe’s training. Whether you’re a parent seeking to inspire your child, a community leader looking to make a difference, or an educator wanting to incorporate media literacy into your curriculum, FAMe offers the expertise and resources to help you succeed.

Join us in our mission to create media that matters. Explore our programs and discover how FAMe is shaping the future of storytelling, one student at a time.
